Let’s look at 3 main ways to get featured with a structured markup
– Be fact-based and organize well
Numbers, steps, and lists are loved by Google. We have seen this again and again: answer boxes will list the actual ingredients more often than not, number of steps, time to cook, year and city of birth, etc.
Be sure to list helpful numbers and names in your paragraph introducing the answer to the question. Just get really factual.
– Compose your articles to answers many similar questions
Ahrefs found that once a page is featured, it is likely to be featured in lots of related queries in their analysis of featured snippets. This means that the way it answers a lot of similar issues should be organized and worded.
Google is very good at determining issues that are synonymous and closely related, so you should be. There is no point in creating a separate page that responds to each particular question.
– Always aim at answering questions concisely
My own study of response boxes has led me to conclude that Google tends to provide an answer within a single paragraph.
Featured snippets will continue to evolve, much like almost every other Google feature. Studies can be both exciting and rewarding and uncover new ways to leverage them to enhance SERPs for all.
